We all are wealthy in one way or the other.

Have you heard about rich people who are not happy at times?
Do you know about those people who have a very good job, they are earning well but complaining that they are not happy?

Who is a wealthy person? Do you think that a person is wealthy when he or she has lots and lots of money?

I think there is more to wealth than money only.

a wealthy person is always happy. Why?

Because there are seven types of wealth:

1. Inner wealth:

Having a positive mental attitude is a type of wealth. Positive people with positive outlook of the world can be happy – Always.

Try this: Have a positive mental attitude and try to be sad at the same time. I don’t think its possible. With positive attitude, life appears to be positive. Inner wealth really helps.

2. Physical wealth:

Health is wealth! A person who is not healthy cannot enjoy life. If you want to learn importance of wealth, ask some one who is not feeling well.

3. Family wealth:

Do you have loving parents or a caring brother or sister or friends who can come to your help at any time you want? Family and friends are another form of wealth.

4. Career wealth:

When we reach at the top of our career, we feel a sense of fulfillment. This is another type of wealth.

5. Economic wealth:

Money is not the only important thing in life but it is one of the important things and hence, it is needed. Some one said: The more I have, the more I can give. So, earn more to give more.

6. Adventure wealth:

We feel happy when we visit new place or meet new exciting people. We feel happy when we are able to take a challenge and deliver more than expectation. Adventure is another form of wealth

7. Impact wealth:

What is our mission in life?

What is the impact we can make on our environment? Can we do some thing to improve life of people who need our support or help? Think about it. People who have impact around their environment show that they have impact wealth.

So, next time, think that you are wealthy when you have inner wealth. When you have a caring family or caring friends or when you are healthy or when you progress in your career you are wealthy! Think and thank!

The success story of Suhas Gopinath

The story of this 22-year-old Bangalore boy who launched his own firm at the young age of 14 years.
Gopinath(born November 4, 1986) is the CEO and co-founder of Globals Inc.-an up- coming IT company that produces Web sites and software, employs 400 people around the world and become a national icon. The Limca Book of Records - the Indian version of the Guniess Book of Records - lists him as the world's Youngest Chief Executive.

Suhas Gopinath started a software company at the age 14 and since become one of the most remarkable success stories of the Indian IT boom. Now he's 22 and runs a world-class business with 400 employees.
In 2005, an investing firm from Houston, Texas offered him $100 milliom for majority stake in Globals. He refused,"after several months of discussions, admittedly". The reason for his negative response:"Why should I sell my baby?"
The transformation
During the mid-1990s, the first Internet cafes began opening up in Bangalore, with one going into operation next door to Gopinath's house. My brother Shreyas took me there. I was fascinated. The Internet changed my life, he says. He spent every spare minute online.

He learned himself how to build Web sites. He spent every rupee he had in the internet cafe, says his mother. Gopinath admits, I had been a good student up until then. After I discovered the internet, I was an average student. Before finding cyberspace, he had dreams of becoming a veterinarian.

His first project
In 1998, when he was 13, Gopinath launched his first website: www.coolhindustan.com. I wanted to provide Indians all over the world with a forum to post public events, tips for eating out and every thing else they're interested in, he recalls. The Web site became popular - including with hackers in Pakistan. They attacked cool Hindustan and replaced the Web site's logo with "Cool Pakistan". That was a terrible experience, Suhas says today. He abandoned the project.

By then, talent scouts in Silicon Valley had already heard of Suhas Gopinath and the company "Network Solutions" invited the young Indian to its head quarters in San Jose, California. It was the first time he had ever boarded a plane and the first time he had been

Outside India's borders. They offered me a job. They also would have paid for my education in the United States, he says. His answer, though, was no, why should I do for another company what I could do for my own?
About his company

L to R: -Suhas Gopinath, former president Abdul Kalam.

Gopinath wasn't going to wait four years. He cheated: Along with three friends, he registered his company in San Jose. online, of course, he says. He wanted to name the company "Global Solutions", But that name was already taken. He opted for Globals.

Today, he still regrets that he wasn't able to start his company in Bangalore. India's most important politicians know the young man. He was even granted a private conversation with President Abdul Kalam. I told him that the age limit for starting a company has to be removed, Gopinath says. Kalam promised him support, but so far nothing has changed.
The law wasn't the only obstacle, though. Potential customers cancelled their orders when they learned their business partner was barely 14. Many people didn't take him seriously he remembers. As soon as he began sprouting facial hair, he grew moustache, though he has, on the advice of friends, since shaved it off.

Ultimately, Gopinath managed to overcome every obstacle. World gradually spread about his company's abilities and Gopinath hired more and more people and opened up more offices. He became the boss, employer and chief executive - all in mid puberty.

Most of his employees are just young: The average age is 21 with the oldest being a ripe old 26 and the youngest 12. Gopinath is unable to give the latter a full time job - that would amount to child labor. But we gave him a computer with internet connection, Gopinath says, Now he works for us sometimes on Web design.
200 Customers the World Over
Gopinath's company is into web-based and software solutions, mobile and e-commerce solutions - besides making web sites for corporates, advertisers and educational institutions.

Meanwhile Global has amassed 200 customers across the globe and now has offices in 11 countries with some 65 percentage of company turn over coming from Europe. The young Indians have become particularly good at identifying unfilled market niches. They developed a software product for schools, for example, allowing a teachers to easily enter grades and attendance and enabling parents to check that their childrens are showing up to class - a kind of electronics class register. The Indian government was thrilled with the idea and recently contracted Globals to set up the program in 1,000 schools.

Now That he is 21, Gopinath is thinking of transferring the company headquarters to India - even though some 125 people now work for Globals in San Jose against only 25 in Bangalore. What would be happen to the employees in the United States? We'II see, Gopinath says. "The new developments are coming mainly from Bangalore".
Going to university on the side
L to R: M.R.Gopinath-Suhas' father, Shri. M V Rajashekaran-Minister, Suhas Gopinath, Kala Gopinath-Suhas' mother)

Gopinath's father, M.R Gopinath, once a scientist at the Defense Ministry, now acknowledges that his son made the right choices during the last seven years. They are proud parents, but they still haven't let him go. "To us, it's important that he gets a degree, the father says. "Education is the most important thing in India".

How to Convince People Effectively

How to Convince People Effectively

The ability make others believe what you believe is important for success in many fields. There is often a fine line between convincing somebody your views are valid and annoying them. In this article we’ll look at some of the techniques you can use if you want to convince another individual to believe what you believe.

Steps

Do the homework. Make sure you understand your own viewpoint. If you are going to try to convince somebody that the Eiffel Tower is taller than the Statue of Liberty, find out the facts first, don’t make assumptions.

Learn the field. For certain areas you will need to know more than just the facts, as some subjects are subjective. For example, if you wanted to convince somebody that the Statue of Liberty was prettier than the Eiffel Tower you will need to know enough about architecture and aesthetics to argue about that subject, as well as the facts, like how tall they are. If you are selling something, like a car, you will need to know all there is to know about the car you are selling. Likewise, you will need to know all about the other cars that are in competition with your vehicle.

Engage the person politely. Maintain eye contact where possible, but don’t be annoying about it.

Establish mutual respect. You will never convince anybody of anything if they believe you do not respect them, so show the person you respect them and be good enough to gain their respect.

Gain trust. To convince people of most things you will need their trust. They don’t have to trust you as a person, but they do need to trust that what you are saying makes sense, that you know your “stuff”. The best way to do this is to do your homework and fieldwork, that way you know a lot about the subject.

Listen carefully to what your debate partner has to say. Respond thoughtfully to their point of view.

When you can, back up what you say with real facts. Lying will only convince somebody until they find out about the lie, then you will never be able to convince them of anything again.

Be willing to be convinced. Sometimes accepting one point from the other person and showing that you can change your mind when you are wrong will help them to be the same, and change their mind about the subject you care about.

Practice active listening. Active listening helps you control a conversation and keeps it on track. Active listening techniques include:

Non-verbal feedback. Nodding your head as the other talks etc.

Paraphrase what the other person has said to make sure you understand it.

Make sure you understand the other person’s objections and respond to them in an intelligent manner.

Keep vigilant about your belief, but always respectful of the beliefs of others. Explain why your belief is important to you.

Understand the other person’s motivations. If you know what another person wants, you are more likely to be able to give it to them.

Rephrase your beliefs in a way that the other person is better able to understand.

Follow up. Ask questions to make sure the other person understands their new views completely.

Tips

To hold the eye of a crowd select individuals in the crowd and hold their eyes on-and-off through your presentation.

Never lose your cool. Nothing lacks conviction more than a raving idiot.

Always be friendly and respectful even if the other person does not change their mind.

Beliefs fade. You may think you have changed somebodies mind but find that in a day or two, perhaps a week, they are right back to where they were before.

If you want something you never had, do something you have never done.
Don’t go the way life takes you. Take life the way you want to go .
And remember you are born to live and not living because you are born.

The Fern and the Bamboo

The Fern and the Bamboo

2 11 2007
One day I decided to quit…. I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality. … I wanted to quit my life. I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
“God”, I said. “Can you give me one good reason not to quit?”
His answer surprised me…
“Look around”, He said. “Do you see the fern and the bamboo?”
“Yes”, I replied.
“When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.
I gave them light. I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo”.
He said. “In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit.
In the fourth year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed.
I would not quit.”
He said. “Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.
Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant.
But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 Feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.”
He said to me. “Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots. I Would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. Don’t compare yourself to others.”
He said. “The bamboo had a different purpose than the Fern, yet, they both make the forest beautiful.”
“Your time will come, “God said to me.” You will rise high!”
“How high should I rise?” I asked.
“How high will the bamboo rise?” He asked in return.
“As high as it can?” I questioned.
“Yes.” He said, “Give me glory by rising as high as you can.”
I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you……..
Never regret a day in your life. Good days give you happiness; bad days give you experiences; both are essential to life.

One of the ways to manage this better is to write down responsibilities and share them fairly. Specify who will do what, then start working on them a trial basis; maybe a week, or longer.  Of course you can collectively decide to change or shift responsibility as needed.

7. Religious and cultural strains

As one of the top reasons for divorce, religious and cultural differences usually takes a lot of heat. Many times this problem does not exist at all, while other factors push amarriage towards its demise but religious differences get thrown in and are blamed. Many couples usually try to discuss their differences before getting sliding rings on their fingers yet in other cases religion can become distancing factor.

6. Boredom in marriage

Believe it or not married couples get bored of each other or the life style they are drawn to. In many cases boredom can become much more noticeable and intolerable after years ofmarriage . While more compatible couples will stay together for life, some couples will eventually grow distant, disinterested, and consequently bored. Couples in this kind of situation should aim to remember the good things and accomplishments of their lives and shift the focus from the negatives to the positives. Trying new thing like traveling, occasionally eating out or planning long-term projects can be good remedies for couples facing boredom, helping them to find a common goal and purpose once again.

Money is not always the sole or primary cause of divorce inmarried couples and is usually combined with other top reasons for divorce causing distress. In any case, it is still a significant contributor and should be managed with fairness from both sides, understanding and a tiny does of compromise.

3. Physical, psychological or emotional abuse

Marriage abuses – from either husband or wife – is a big area of concern for many couples. Physical, psychological or emotional abuses take a large diverse of forms, which varies from family to family. However, in a short list they include things like telling a spouse that they are unwanted, beating, name-calling, ignoring, restricting person to a room, terrorizing, monitoring phone calls, forcing spouse in doing something which they are not comfortable with. Abuse is one of the biggestreasons for divorce and any person oppressed in such a condition could face a really miserable life and should seek help quickly.

2. Communication breakdown in relationships

In a lot of cases when a marriage is breaking down one or both partners often say “we just can not communicate” or  “we just don’t understand each other.” Some people may think that “communication” in a marriage always means agreeing with each other. So when they are not able to agree then the couple refers to the problem as “communication problem.” This is not true. Good communication is not always about agreement but when you are in disagreement it most likely means that you are communicating well and clearly stating your position. Couples who have communication problems, which usually lead to divorce and breakdown are not able to find the between the two points of medium. And once again it is all compromising and finding a balance in between.

1. Marriage Infidelity: top reasons for divorce

Infidelity or more commonly known as “cheating” is on top of the list of reasons for divorce in the US. Most people know what infidelity or cheating is but in more formal terms infidelity is a violation of mutually agreed rules or boundaries that a couple assume in a relationship. In most marriages these terms are not mentioned since they are only assumed to be kept and honored by each person. Ironically, it is holds the number one reason for divorce in the US and many other countries.

STEPS TO REDUCE STAGE FEAR

·         STEPS TO REDUCE STAGE FEAR
Nothing will relax you more than to know you are properly prepared.
Below are 10 steps you can take to reduce speech anxiety.

Know the room - become familiar with the place in which you will speak. Arrive early and walk around the room including the speaking area. Stand at the lectern, speak into the microphone. Walk around where the audience will be seated. Walk from where you will be seated to the place where you will be speaking.
Know the Audience - If possible, greet some of the audience as they arrive and chat with them. It is easier to speak to a group of friends than to a group of strangers.
Know Your Material - If you are not familiar with your material or are uncomfortable with it, your nervousness will increase. Practice your speech or presentation and revise it until you can present it with ease.
Learn How to Relax - You can ease tension by doing exercises. Sit comfortable with your back straight. Breathe in slowly, hold your breath for 4 to 5 seconds, then slowly exhale. To relax your facial muscles, open your mouth and eyes wide, then close them tightly.
Visualize Yourself Speaking - Imagine yourself walking confidently to the lectern as the audience applauds. Imagine yourself speaking, your voice loud, clear and assured. When you visualize yourself as successful, you will be successful.
Realize People Want You To Succeed - All audiences want speakers to be interesting, stimulating, informative and entertaining. They want you to succeed - not fail.
Don't apologize For Being Nervous - Most of the time your nervousness does not show at all. If you don't say anything about it, nobody will notice. If you mention your nervousness or apologize for any problems you think you have with your speech, you'll only be calling attention to it. Had you remained silent, your listeners may not have noticed at all.
Concentrate on Your Message - not the medium - Your nervous feelings will dissipate if you focus your attention away from your anxieties and concentrate on your message and your audience, not yourself.
Turn Nervousness into Positive Energy - the same nervous energy that causes stage fright can be an asset to you. Harness it, and transform it into vitality and enthusiasm.
Gain Experience - Experience builds confidence, which is the key to effective speaking. Most beginning speakers find their anxieties decrease after each speech they give.

If the fear of public speaking causes you to prepare more, then the fear of speaking serves as it's own best antidote.

Remember, "He who fails to prepare is preparing for failure - so Prepare, Prepare, Prepare"

One student, desperate to get into advertising, had been rejected by the main London agencies, so he decided to try a different approach. He bought some pink envelopes and a small bottle of expensive perfume. He placed his CV in the envelopes and wrote "Private" on the outside. He liberally sprinkled the envelopes with scent and posted them to the senior agency partner in several of the biggest agencies. When it arrived, nobody dared to open the letters and the graduate was offered several interviews - presumably for his daring. Note that, we don't recommend this approach!

Answers:
  1. Offer to buy her a drink! The captain was of course a woman. Many airlines are now hot on equal opportunities and a candidate who had difficulty envisaging that an airline captain might be female would not go very far!
  2. Your left hand, forearm or elbow.
  3. 10p and 1p - the other coin can be a penny!
  4. None. NOAH built the Ark
  5. White. Only at the North Pole can all four walls be facing South.
  6. The match!
  7. Holes
  8. The outside
  9. Churchill was Prime Minister twice, from 1940 to 45 and from 1951 to 55.
  10. One
  11. Because he is still alive .
  12. 90. Dividing by half is the same as multiplying by 2.
  13. None - it's a hole!
  14. No - because he's dead
  15. YOU are the driver!
  16. The woman is of small stature and couldn't reach the upper lift buttons.
  17. He was cleaning the inside of the windows.
  18. Milky Way
  19. Milk
  20. Water. After the previous two questions, did you answer milk?
  21. Eight
  22. Glass
  23. Horse racing; or other horse sports
  24. About 1 to 1. Any birth will always have a 50% chance of being male or female.
  25. You don't bury survivors!
  26. One
  27. Eight: there are four faces on Big Ben (see the picture to the right)
  28. Not zero degrees as you might at first think. The minute hand will be at 15 minutes (90 degrees clockwise from vertical) but the hour hand will have progressed to one quarter of the distance between 3 pm and 4 pm. Each hour represents 30 degrees (360 / 12), so one quarter of an hour equals 7.5 degrees. So the minute hand will be at 97.5 degrees: a 7.5 degree difference between the hands.
  29. 22: the minute hand will go round the dial 24 times, but the hour hand will also complete two circuits. 24 minus 2 equals 22.
  30. John
  31. His horse was named Friday
  32. Go outside and throw it upwards.
  33. Cut it horizontally half way up (i.e. parallel to the top) . See right
  34. House numbers.

Score
  • Over 30. You are a true lateral thinking Guru. Edward De Bono would be proud of you. Or maybe you are the man himself.
  • 25 to 30. Very good.
  • 20 to 24. Quite good.
  • 15 to 19. Average.
